What is this class?

Adult Ballet is a free community class for dancers of all bodies, backgrounds, and experience levels. Whether you are returning to ballet, trying it for the first time, or simply looking for a thoughtful way to move, you are welcome.

Grounded in classical ballet, the class emphasizes anatomy, functional movement, dynamic alignment, and whole-body strength. Gaile’s approach develops coordination, musicality, and confidence while meeting each dancer where they are. No previous ballet experience is required, and movements can be adapted according to each participant’s body and mobility.

Wear clothing that allows you to move comfortably. Ballet shoes are welcome but not required. Socks or bare feet are also fine. Please bring water.

Weekly RSVP

Class capacity is limited to 30 dancers.

Registration opens each Tuesday at 12:00 PM for the following Monday’s class.

RSVPs are released one week at a time so that more people have an opportunity to participate throughout the series. Completing the form reserves your space until class begins at 7:00 PM.

Please cancel if you can no longer attend so that someone on the waitlist or a walk-in may take your place. Walk-ins are welcome only when space is available.

About Gaile Holland

Gaile has been teaching ballet in Miami-Dade County for nearly 40 years. She is co-director of the Edwin Holland Dance Ensemble, a company of formally trained dancers ages 10 to 18 who perform throughout the community. She has also served as a dance coordinator and judge for the NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) and currently teaches dance to children ages 5 to 18 through the City of North Miami Beach Police Athletic League. Over the course of her career, Gaile has taught thousands of students across Miami-Dade County, including Pioneer Winter, whom she has known for most of his life.
